“My holistic approach combined with my preferred therapeutic approaches allows me to address an individual as a whole person in terms of their mind, spirit, and body. The goal of a holistic approach is to balance all the different aspects of an individual, so the entire person is addressed in treatment and not just one aspect, ultimately to enhance one’s self awareness.”
Becoming a mother enhanced my interest in child development and parenting styles, which led me to work extensively with children and their families offering healing within the family system. My interest in learning challenges allowed me the opportunity to work with many schools and teachers both within the private and public sector, offering a multidisciplinary assessment and intervention plan.
In addition, my private practice experience includes working with many adults offering individual psychotherapy, as well as offering couple therapy and family therapy.
An urge for change and growth has led me to relocate to Cape Town and it is a privilege for me to be part of Carly’s Couch.
I am compassionately committed to working with both adults and children of varying ages and cultural backgrounds, presenting with a broad spectrum of health, mental and learning challenges. My experience has led me to work within a variety of contexts, including educational and clinic settings, offering individual, couple, group and family therapy. I have a special interest in learning challenges, the assessment thereof and the integrative remediation process. I work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and allied health professionals offering an integrative approach to assessment, remediation and therapy. I see many adults for individual psychotherapy. I work from a Transactional Analysis perspective, integrating Solution Focused Therapy and Person Centered approaches. My holistic approach combined with my preferred therapeutic approaches allows me to address an individual as a whole person in terms of their mind, spirit, and body. The goal of a holistic approach is to balance all the different aspects of an individual, so the entire person is addressed in treatment and not just one aspect, ultimately to enhance one’s self awareness. On a personal level, I enjoy the practice of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Quality time with loved ones and experiencing joy from simple pleasures in life is how I spend my free time.
