“I believe that therapy is a gift to the self. It is a safe space to explore and find one’s inner
voice. It is a space to learn and grow and take time out to be with the self. It can be uncomfortable and challenging but ultimately extremely rewarding, especially in today’s fast paced world.”
How I work
I am an English speaking clinical psychologist based in Cape Town.
I have worked in both the private and public sector. My first position was at a pre-primary and
primary school providing counselling for kids from ages 3-9yrs. I also concurrently worked for the
Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation providing counselling for HIV positive teenagers and adults.
My work in private practice focused on bereavement, relationship issues, women’s issues such as
eating disorders, rape and domestic violence and parenting support. I’m a predominantly psychodynamically oriented psychologist as I focus on the reasons certain symptoms arise. In addition, I recognise the need to provide coping tools and uses cognitive and behavioural techniques when required.
I offer long term and short term therapy for individuals, couples and families.
